Just wrapped up excavations and wish to point out a few finds before you write them up? Discovered a long lost monograph on Illinois archaeology and wish to post a few page-scans to tantalize researchers? This is the place to do it. Members that wish to slightly expand a news item they submit with a few pictures and a little bit of text can have that material featured on the MAC website. Particulary interesting field school? Give us a few photos and some text and up they will go, with links back to your main website (if you have one).

The picture above is Bruce Douglas from the Indiana University Department of Geological Sciences using Ground Penetrating Radar with the help of Cheryl Munson and Jocelyn Turner at Hovey Lake in SW Indiana. They are surveying an area near previously excavated Block 4 to discern whether the instrument's configuration will detect deep pits, house basins and wall trench features.

GPR Surveys will take place August 2003 in conjunction with the Indiana Geological Survey as part of Indiana's first Transportation Enhancement grant for an archaeological project. Test excavations in selected parts of the survey area will be directed by Cheryl Munson in September.

An Excavation Open House for the public will be held September 20th and 21st as one of many Indiana Archaeology Month events.
