Storeroom
Tours at 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM ($10; limit 15 individuals per tour)
Join the Milwaukee Public Museum's Anthropology Collections
Manager/Associate Curator, Dawn Scher-Thomae, for an exclusive view of the Museum's
extensive collection of North American artifacts. Numerous Wisconsin sites and
type collections for major periods of Wisconsin prehistory are represented.
Non-Wisconsin collections include Mandan, Hopewellian, Caddoan, and Mississippian
sites in the American midcontinent and ancestral Puebloan sites in the American
Southwest. The Museum also holds important North American thematic collections
including the celebrated George West pipe collection and significant collections
of copper implements and groundstone tools.
