Minutes of the Business Meeting
OCTOBER 18, 2003

The meeting was held on Saturday, October 18, 2003, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

President Bill Green welcomed the members attending, and requested and received approval of the minutes of the 2002 Business Meeting as posted on the MAC website.

Bob Jeske presented a brief report as meeting organizer, saying that there were 170 presenters of papers or posters, 310 individuals registered, and all was working well. Several members commented on the very nice accommodations provided by the meeting rooms and the lobby area. Bob announced that of the four logo designs submitted to the members, the vote-winning design was the All-Caps letters M-A-C, with trowel (see home page on website). Bob thanked the many students at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (list names???? ) who worked to make the meeting a success. Bill Green then thanked Bob for his work as meeting organizer for 2003.

Cheryl Munson presented the Secretary’s report on elections, correspondence, including the new MAC website, and records. Mark Seeman was elected to a 2-year term as Executive Officer.

The Treasurer’s report was presented by Bob Jeske, highlighting the need to expand membership beyond the present level of 253 and donations which have come from 45 individuals.

Bill Lovis presented the Editor’s report: the editorial office has been established at Michigan State University with Megan McCullen as assistant editor and Linda Forman as layout editor; the 2003 issues are nominally on time; and manuscripts are requested for 2004.
